Finally after a long time of confusion I have decided .
It all started when my friend told me about the blog service provider tumblr.com . At first I liked it a lot .To list out its outstanding features ,
- The ultimate cool – theme garden
- Efficient and easy to use dashboard .
- Possibility to integrate it with facebook and twitter in a very easy way .
- Facility to upload high-res photos and to create albums.
- Cool posting features ., etc ..
The first thing I had problems with is the commenting feature . Tumblr does not provide you with a default commenting service as in blogger . The only way is that you have to sign in to disqus.com which is some kind of comment outsourcing .
Second thing is its search bar which is a total disaster and is totally inefficient .
Then , the dashboard. Though it has some nice features , the entries of the blogs I follow flood my dashboard . Tumblr is claimed to be something that’s between fb and twitter , but I definitely hate that dashboard . And it has very less popularity among Indians . None of the foreigners write , they just share photos and it is very hard to find a post without obscenity , which I felt was really annoying . But yes , there are good ones . Example :http://theanimalblog.tumblr.com/ and http://priyaprakash.tumblr.com/ . If you are a good photographer then tumblr is the right place for you and people there appreciate and like seeing pictures than to read .
And finally , the position I ve earned in the web world . I search for my name and I could find my blog right in the first page . I was so worried about losing this . But now I have decided . I am sticking with blogger and I will find ways to integrate it with fb .
Tumblr is a good blog service provider but it needs a lot more to compete with blogger or wordpress .
I love blogger
