My Diminutive Paradise

Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine. Now!!  that's the line to start describing this experience with.  I'm not an avid follower of malayalam movies but the good ones doesn't get to evade me so easily. The first look poster,  DQ - Nithya,  and with the way the trailer leaves an impression with its wonderful music and an intriguing cinematography,  this movie went into my must-watch list instantly. Today I had the pleasure of experiencing,  as I would like to call it,  Jenuse mohamed's 100 days of love. What makes this movie special apart from the technical finesse is the great performance. The best thing about the protagonist, DQ is his subtlety and he fits perfectly into the role of BKN. You don't get to see a single scene where he either over-performs or under-performs.   The trailer told us what the plot was . The reviews would have told you what the movie is . In my opinion , Kadal is not as expected , not even close . The first half has a few noticeable and well placed scenes which really gives off Mani’s aura but it fades and flickers in a predictable , dull and not so interesting second half . Bermes as pure evil is perfect and so is Father Sam but the growth of these characters is rather naive . The scene where Bermes tricks , Father Sam in a trap and the whole crowd losing their trust and bringing down a man of faith is nice . Expecting a perfect rise of that character after such a downfall , i was left disappointed as  Mani had just decided to let it be , just like that . The movie began with deafening roars,  claps and whistles from the audience - not for the hero - but for Santhanam. This man is clearly the fav of the masses.  The movie is all about the emotional outbursts between Varun (Jeeva) and Nithya(Samantha) . They fight,  break up,  meet up after sometime and again fight - break up and there u go...  That's all the movie is about. It did look cute,  when it began and slowly it turned out to be totally annoying. The crowd became restless even before the interval and there were disaapointed voices from the audience like " Gautam ku enna da aachu?  " , " Machi ! Idu theatre la oru vaaram kooda thaangadhu polaye" , etc... I leave the rest to your assumption.  This movie is completely Samantha-centric and she is gorgeous at times and also the other way around . ["Kudutha kaasukku mattum nadima plz " - audience voice. ] Jeeva is just the usual romantic - dude!!  Nothing worth mentioning there.  ...

What’s It About ! A Srilankan Refugee with the thirst to be more and to be better , moves up the ladder to become one of the most feared Dons by eliminating all those who he thinks , are his enemies. Actually he moves up ,pretty darn slow !!! Analysis : When they re-made the yesteryear Billa , there was so much expectations around it and it did deliver what was expected and acquired a cult status . Now we have Billa-2 , supposedly the first Prequel in Indian Cinema - a movie about the Don’s history . Chakri Toleti , given such a huge opportunity has miserably failed to deliver a worthy prequel . Billa wants to be a DON and he becomes one is the storyline . But how did he come to the level , should have been dealt with much care , rather than a dumb screenplay and nothing but murder all over . Ok. Im not going to lie . When i first saw this movie in the internet available for download . I didnt have any hopes for it . Come on . Will you download a movie that's directly out in the net and available for free download , legally ? . I certainly didnt at first . One will start to think that its some kinda crap which couldn't even make to the big screens .  How much effort would have actually gone into the movie ? Actually a lot . I had such little expectations for this movie ,but it just proved me wrong . This turned out to be one of the best horror movies i have seen . Going underground - was really very intense . Its the kind of movie that will keep you at the edge of your seats and make you totally believe that , everything (the footage) in the movie is so real . The vital thing about a horror movie , is the sound . It can make or break a movie . In this case , it is just great . This weekend turned out to be one of the best times I have ever had . Most of the things that happened , were not pre-planned  and the surprise made it  thrilling and lovable . Last friday , I was surfing through the net , majorly fbooking . My brother who is also in his summer holidays , came to me and asked if we could go for some movie this weekend . My eyes went big and my head started nodding even before I knew it . I liked the idea . So looked through the websites for ticket status . Our first option was KO . But when my friend said , it was not very good and that they have somewhat copied the climax of dark night , I dropped the idea . There is always the torrents :) I just had to wait for a few days .            Well ! I saw a movie today - Triangle 2009 .My friend said it was a nice movie and not to read any reviews before watching the movie. The movie starts off in a promising way , takes you with it and does not leave your mind even after its over . Its a mystery mind-twister .Right after 10 min of run time u start thinking and stay thinking even after its over.New things are added up , when least expected and explained quite well . This movie left me scratching my head  .  There are a few scenes when u really start blinking and try to figure out  what the hell happens there .I am not clear if i liked the movie , but i didnt hate it . Triangle - a complex mystery thriller that demands your attention and leaves you scratching your head when its over .

Johnny Depp is gonna come back , but this time not with the pirates ,but with Alice and the wonderland.The movie's recently released trailer is awesome .Tim burton has created a whole new fantastic and creative world ....which looks very much like a WWWonderland that u would think about.I am waiting to watch it . James Cameron is my most favourite director and he has once again broken all boundaries and created a visual extravaganza. Bloddy hell!!! This movie is totally freaky. It is the best thriller i've ever seen.It just freaks the shit out of ya.Right from the starting ,the problems that Micah and Katie faces are reallly thrilling. The footprints on the floor, the half burnt photo and those unusual noises , it really freaked me out.In some cases, blink, and you will miss something. Subliminal shocks are everywhere, so not only are your conscious senses attacked, your psyche is brutally terrorized. This makes, in one instance, viewing a completely empty room in dead silence for 30 seconds or more turn out to be one of the most horrifying scenes in the entire film. If you think about, just seeing an empty, silent room does not seem scary at all, but there-in lies the genius of this film: That something that simple can scare you down to the deepest core of emotion. This is another short Film which i got amused with today.. To appreciate a small miracle like For the Birds, see it with children. Observe them as they watch, understand, empathize and laugh out loud to a quirky short with no dialogue. When a director can combine a visually joyful piece that is poignant as well as entertaining to anyone of any age, an Oscar is deserved. For the Birds ranks with its Oscar Winning predecessor Geri's Game as a tiny slice of genius. Bravo.

Geri's Game' is a short, animated film by the geniuses at Pixar Animation, and it was screened in cinemas to precede 'A Bug's Life' . This short film borders on perfection. Absolutely no dialogue is spoken in the film, but it doesn't need to be. The simple plots concerns an old man named Geri who loves to play a high-stakes game of chess in the park. The only catch: He has nobody else to play with! This is a highly-enjoyable short. The music is beautifully fitting, and the animation is first-rate. The character of Geri (or, at least, one of his characters) is a very likable, bumbling old man. You can certainly see how Pixar earned themselves an Oscar with this short. Highly recommended.
