Will it be the end?

Throughout the years, many people have predicted the end of the world, but perhaps the most notorious of these future seers is Nostradamus. Few psychics have had the degree of success at making predictions that we’ve seen from Nostradamus. He lived from 1503 to 1566 and historians and observers believe that approximately fifty percent of his predictions have already come true. Some of the most famous predictions that have come true are predictions about World War I and World War II, Hitler, Napoleon, and the atomic destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The current interest in the Nostradamus end of world predictions revolve around his predictions for massive unrest and trouble in the time between 2009 and 2012. When you combine this with the idea of the December 21, 2012 end-date of the Mayan Long Count Calendar, things become interesting indeed. In addition to this unrest, some believe that Nostradamus also predicted President Obama taking office. Nostradamus’ predictions are quite

LOTR Audio Book-Coming Soon!

“The Lord of the Rings” is the greatest trilogy, and it immortalized the name of its creator. It consists of three parts: “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers” and “The Return of the King”. The plot is based on the struggle for the Ring of Power, which was forged by Sauron, the Dark Lord, long long ago. The trilogy is a logical sequence of a no less famous fairy tale by Tolkien “The Hobbit” as well as the second part of the Red Book of Westmarch – the main chronicle of the Third Age of Middle-earth. “The Lord of the Rings” belongs to the genre of an epic, has many plots and a great number of main and secondary characters. For the Birds-Pixar

This is another short Film which i got amused with today.. To appreciate a small miracle like For the Birds, see it with children. Observe them as they watch, understand, empathize and laugh out loud to a quirky short with no dialogue. When a director can combine a visually joyful piece that is poignant as well as entertaining to anyone of any age, an Oscar is deserved. For the Birds ranks with its Oscar Winning predecessor Geri's Game as a tiny slice of genius. Bravo.

Geri's Game - Pixar's short film

Geri's Game' is a short, animated film by the geniuses at Pixar Animation, and it was screened in cinemas to precede 'A Bug's Life' . This short film borders on perfection. Absolutely no dialogue is spoken in the film, but it doesn't need to be. The simple plots concerns an old man named Geri who loves to play a high-stakes game of chess in the park. The only catch: He has nobody else to play with! This is a highly-enjoyable short. The music is beautifully fitting, and the animation is first-rate. The character of Geri (or, at least, one of his characters) is a very likable, bumbling old man. You can certainly see how Pixar earned themselves an Oscar with this short. Highly recommended.

Issac Newton - The Alchemist

Sir Isaac Newton, the famous seventeenth-century mathematician and scientist, though not generally known as an alchemist, practiced the art with a passion. Though he wrote over a million words on the subject, after his death in 1727, the Royal Society deemed that they were "not fit to be printed." The papers were rediscovered in the middle of the twentieth century and most scholars now concede that Newton was first an foremost an alchemist. It is also becoming obvious that the inspiration for Newton's laws of light and theory of gravity came from his alchemical work. If one looks carefully, in the light of alchemical knowledge, at the definitive biography, Sir Isaac Newton by J. W. V. Sullivan, it is quite easy to realize the alchemical theories from which he was working. Sir Arthur Eddington, in reviewing this book, says: "The science in which Newton seems to have been chiefly interested, and on which he spent most

Oculus

Have you read any books about ancient mystical architecture and the major role played by an oculus in many traditional rituals? Wonder what an oculus is? Well then! Here is a tiny bit of info about an oculus and some picture....... Oculus (plural oculi) is the Latin word for eye, and the word remains in use in certain contexts, as the name of the round opening in the top of the dome of the Pantheonin Rome, and in reference to other round windows and openings. The Oculus in the Pantheon has always been open to the weather, allowing rain to enter and fall to the floor, where it is carried away through drains. In the picture, right, sunlight streams through the opening and strikes the lower part of the dome. The bright opening and the surrounding smooth concrete above the coffering resembles an eye, giving the opening its name. Circular windows, a feature of Classical architecture since the sixteenth century are often denoted by their French name, oeil de boeuf, or "bull's-eye

Franklin's Magic Squares

Here's an amusing passage from Benjamin Franklin's autobiography: "Being one day in the country at the house of our common friend, the late learned Mr. Logan, he showed me a folio French book filled with magic squares, wrote, if I forget not, by one M. Frenicle [Bernard Frenicle de Bessy], in which, he said, the author had discovered great ingenuity and dexterity in the management of numbers; and, though several other foreigners had distinguished themselves in the same way, he did not recollect that any one Englishman had done anything of the kind remarkable. I said it was perhaps a mark of the good sense of our English mathematicians that they would not spend their time in things that were merely 'difficiles nugae', incapable of any useful application." Logan disagreed, pointing out that many of the math questions publically posed and answered in England were equally trifling and useless. After some further discussion about how things of this sort might perh

Jeova sanctus unus

One of the world’s greatest scientists. He was an alchemist, a member of the Royal Society of London, a Rosicrucian, and he signed some of his most secretive science papers with a pseudonym — ‘Jeova Sanctus Unus’ ! which means “One True God”. He signed his name that way because, like the ancient Adepts, he understood himself as divine. In addition, because the sixteen letters in Jeova Sanctus Unus could be rearranged to spell his name in Latin, making it a perfect pseudonym. Jeova Sanctus Unus is an anagram of a famous alchemist’s name in Latin. Latin interchanges the letters J for I and the letter V for U, which means Jeova Sanctus Unus can actually be perfectly rearranged to spell this man’s name. Isaacus Neutonuus. Newton’s name had always been a recurring guidepost for those seeking secret knowledge. Great man and a brilliant one indeed!!! A List of Prominent Pseudonyms [N.B. - née, nee (adj.) appears in American English both with and without the acute accent of its orig

Music: Couples Retreat - A.R.Rahman

The Hollywood movie "Couples Retreat" is set for release on October 9. The film stars Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, Faizon Love, and many more. "Couples Retreat" is a comedy that follows four couples who are all at a tropical resort, going through therapy sessions and learning about their relationships. With all these emotions, an exotic location, and a comedic tone, A.R. Rahman set out to compose the album’s soundtrack. With track titles like "Jason and Cynthia Suite" and "Tour of the Villas," it is understandable that the music has been composed to compliment the scene in which it will be placed, as Hollywood movies always do. With four couples from different walks of life, the soundtrack contains a wide range of instruments and music styles. A.R. Rahman not only shines on his classical Indian music selections, but the orchestra on "Jason and Cynthia Suite" and "Itinerary" is phenomenal! Songs like "Nana" and &qu
